Gerrin Michael Hagen

Gerrin Hagen was a life-long resident of Long Beach. In January 2023, as a senior at Long Beach High School, his life was cut short after being struck by an automobile during school dismissal.

Gerrin was a very proud member of the Long Beach community. He was a student-athlete who cherished representing Long Beach and “defending his island” as a hockey and lacrosse player. Gerrin was also a Long Beach lifeguard. He instantly gravitated to the serious responsibilities that come with being a guard and worked hard to ensure his training would not fail him nor those he protected.

Through his kindness, Gerrin is described as “a friend to all.” He had a unique way of making others feel included. He was very aware of fellow classmates and teammates, especially those younger, and ensured they felt welcome and included. This was also true for a number of developmentally disabled youth who Gerrin befriended.

Gerrin was committed to bettering himself, his school and his community. His confidence and strength of character gave him the courage to face challenges laid before him whether on the ice, on the field or in life. Gerrin loved working in any team environment. He was a leader on and off the ice/field, always putting the best interests of the team first. Gerrin approached others with kindness and sensitivity and felt a strong obligation to come to the aid of anyone in need.

The Hagen family is sincerely grateful for the tremendous love and support shown to us in the wake of Gerrin’s passing. Thank you for honoring Gerrin and supporting the G2H Foundation.
